Grandma’s LAP

What happens when the youth of the church are connected to the whole body of the church?  The church functions as the body.  I wanted to briefly share a happy today.  Over 100 members of First UMC in Jackson, Tennessee participate in a prayer ministry called Grandma’s LAP.  Don’t you just love the name!

It’s simple.  A group of gradma’s started praying for youth in the church and decided to invite others to join in.  Every week, the members receive a card with two youths names on it for them to be in prayer for that week.  One of our CYMT alumni serves as the Youth Minister at FUMC.

Simple concept but a powerful ministry.  Of if the church would allow its members to curl up in Grandma’s lap the world would be a better place.
