The End and Beginning

In a little over an hour, CYMT will graduate its second class of students – the Cougars. In 24 hours, we start orientation with a new class of students – yet to be named.

It is an overwhelming set of emotions to think about the end and the beginning at the same time. Robert Jordan, one of my favorite authors, writes at the beginning of each of his fantasy novels:

“There are neither beginning or endings to the wheel of time. But it was a beginning.”

A new era of CYMT as we begin a new partnership with Memphis Theological Seminary with 15 new students. An era ends as the Cougars who have been outstanding youth directors in their churches complete their CYMT training, but it is a beginning for them as well as they take on more responsibilites for themselves. The journey continues…

I love Robert Jordans statement. I have yet to find an ending that was not also a beginning. So today, I celebrate the end that is not the end. I am grateful for a faith where life comes out of death.

The end is always a beginning.
